Extreme Durability, Gone Amphibious. Introducing: The Limited Edition “SCUBA” Hook Strap™. As if recovered from the depths of our beautiful ocean, this striking series of watch bands are made from my latest “PRO” Plain Weave Military-Grade Polyester Elastic Webbing that greatly enhances durability, and features the world’s first properly “Lumed” (glow-in-the-dark) watch band print technology, all with my proprietary Fixed Bar Compatible, 316 Stainless Steel “G-Hook” hardware and custom engravings to suit.

Something of the "Flagship" model in this lineup (pun very much intended), the "Scuba" takes its intentionally bold appearance from that of the quintessential North American "Diver Down" flag. Typically rectangular in shape with a bright red background and contrasting white slash running from the top left to bottom right, this strap aims to reflect the same attention-grabbing qualities that are employed to alert nearby ships that a SCUBA diver is operating below the surface at a particular location.

To do so, an entirely new PRO Series elastic has been woven in a striking color I have aptly named "Alert Red". To complete the motif, a distinctive, continuous, white, silicone-based phosphorescent stripe has been printed down its center. This theme is also present on the stainless steel hardware with a matching stripe engraved diagonally across the surface.

While the overall impression of this strap could be referred to as "conspicuous" in the daylight, these characteristics shift dramatically at depth. Due to the effects of wavelength absorption, Red light is the first to be filtered out. So, at a mere 10 meters of depth, you are now effectively wearing a black strap with a glowing stripe; The perfect recipe to attract some attention from any curious inhabitants :)

Loosely based on the Bamboo Corals found in all of the world's deep oceans, this strap makes an attempt to bring some of its bioluminescent brilliance up to the surface. A close relative to sea pens, this member of the "octocoral" family can take on many genus forms, including the "Lepidisis", which emits mesmerizing waves of blue light when disturbed; not unlike a burglar alarm to attract larger predators if attacked!

When studied at depth under artificial light, however, these are typically pale white in color; not unlike this print design. But such an incredible profile deserves an equally stunning backdrop, for which an entirely new PRO Series elastic has been woven, in "Deep Yellow". This is also a nod to the fact that Yellow is the next primary color to become absorbed due to its wavelength at a depth of just 20 meters or so (in coastal waters). Just try not to attract any of those large deep sea predators we talked about 😅

Meaning "blue sea and waves", this distinctive pattern is derived from a traditional motif that was introduced to Japan around the 6th century from ancient Chinese sea maps. Popularized during the Edo period (1603-1867) by artist Seikai Kanshichi, this wave-like overlapping of concentric circles became one of the most prominent geometric patterns in all of Japan's history. It serves to evoke the waves of the sea, calm and quiet, yet powerful and resilient. And even a symbol of rising good luck!

Today, this motif is typically used to enrich the overall design of a greater work of art. Almost as a way to fill background space with visual interest. However, this strap is determined to capsize that paradigm; with its glowing white concentric waves placed on a maximum contrast Stealth Black PRO Elastic backdrop and matching hardware, this depiction quickly becomes more of a shore-crashing tribute to its historic inspirations rather than in the hushed, tide-rolling ambiance it typically finds itself.
